A common theme of late has been shots I’ve taken that I’ll never be able to do again, and this is another one of those, albeit unintended. Take a good look at the trees. They’re no longer there. This shot was taken on a foggy morning in 2016 at roughly 6:30 am on my way to work. I did it all handheld. I doubt this one will ever sell, it’s not that kind of shot, but I really like it and I’ve gotten many compliments for it. It’s strange and moody and eerie. It has a personality.
I transferred from one office to another a year later so I don’t have occasion very often to go there anymore, but I did about a week ago, and was struck by something. The trees were gone.
😐
Not just a few were gone… ALL of them were gone. They cut down all the trees. None remain at all. Now it’s just a fairly large and bare cemetery.
They also installed a wrought iron fence around the cemetery, as well. That’s not bad, and could be used to good effect, but it’s just not the same. I mean, it’s always disappointing to lose something, but this one strikes me as especially saddening.

Trees are important to many scenes and areas, but I wonder if roots are an issue. Hmmmmm It is a nice shot though. I do love the mood!

Love the scene. It looks part of a story.

What an interesting photo. Sad about all the trees gone. You do have an eye for scenes to capture!
