Red Barn and Farm with Ominous Clouds, near Palo, Linn County, Iowa

You remember the shot from May 6th, right?  Well, from the same shoot I got this shot.  I like the clouds and this particular perspective, so I am publishing it.  As I was processing it using HDR I tried a black & white version, and I was astounded.  This looks really good.  The tree in the foreground.  The barns in the background.  But… the clouds!  Oh, the clouds.  Brings the whole thing together.

Black and white is trendy in my photo club right now.  In part, because we just hosted a seminar with a noted photographer who prefers black & white (I didn’t go).  Now, I’m not a black & white worshiper like some people are, but I do like a good black & white every s often.  And this time it works and works well.

We just might see a couple more from that day in the near future.  Nothing wrong with that.  A good photo is a good photo.

This is a very breath taking photo. You spend time looking at time and get a bit lost. I think it is beautiful! Thank you for finding the beauty of black & white with this one!
