Yes. Corn. What could be more “Iowa” than corn? That, and pork tenderloins, are what people from here are most proud of. And this is a typical Iowa farm scene. Notice how everything is so neat and orderly? Adjoining grass is mowed, signs are in a perfect row, even the corn itself is standing tall and straight and of uniform and unbroken height. The scene is downright… businesslike.
I lived in farm country in California, too, but California farms weren’t like these. Side grass was never mowed. These hybrid signs you never saw. Things were generally disorganized and, well, kind of sloppy.
What makes this shot is how it absolutely epitomizes what is Iowa. There’s no mistaking. You want Iowa? This is it. This is something that would look good on the wall of any farm house or farm office. And how the signs fade off into the distance adds a subtle artistic feel to it, gives the impression that the farm goes on for ever and ever… or until it hits the trees in the background. LOL!

I read this and felt sorry I didn’t get to it sooner. I think this is a great blog! It shows your art work, has humor, but also is very very true! 🙂 I agree that this would look great in many places on the wall. Now how to get it there?? Very well cone blog my dear!
